

SRO was born out of the desire to marry the unabashed performance energy of rock ‘n ‘roll with the broader palette of musical nuances treasured in classical music. Please do not park on the grass off the side of the road, there are “No Parking” signs.Seattle Rock Orchestra (SRO) doesn’t hide behind a rock band … it is the rock band. Parking: Ample parking next to the picnic shelters. There will be three picnic shelters on your left, the middle one is reserved for the race. Once you are inside the park: To reach the picnic shelter #2 and the race start, turn left before the tennis courts and proceed to the parking area. From Route 250 and Route 29: Take Route 250 east to the exit ramp to Park Street, turn left and follow Park Street onto East Rio Road and turn right onto Pen Park Road and follow it through the gate. From the Downtown Mall: From the northeast end of the Mall, take Park Street north onto East Rio Road and turn right onto Pen Park Road and follow it through the gate. There are several parking lots for the different sections of the park. Pen Park is located at the northeast corner in the city of Charlottesville, off East Rio Road at Pen Park Road. Note: Shirts are only given to those who registered for the series, since the cost of the shirt is included in that fee.
SUMMER MELTDOWN REGISTRATION
Just pick up your bib at the registration table, and your shirt if this is your 3rd or 4th race of the series completed. If you signed up for the Summer Trail Running Series, you are automatically registered for this race. Advance signup via the Register Now button above is recommended. Check this page after registration closes. As of now we are planning to have race day registration ($20 adults, $15 kids 12 & under, no CAT discount) unless we decide we are at the capacity for the venue. Registration closes Sunday 8/7 at 11:59pm. Note: The course and venue are subject to change due to construction in the area, especially near the turnaround.Įntry Fee: $15 adults, $10 kids 12 and under, $10 for CATs members. When: Tuesday, August 9th, 2022, at 7 pm. Those that pre-registered and completed 3 races will receive a cotton t-shirt. Participants that pre-registered for the Series and completed all 4 races will receive a super-cool tech finisher shirt. At the banquet, we will present overall Series awards to cumulative top finishers in all 4 races. Race fee covers post-race BBQ and banquet. Prizes will be awarded to top finishers and points will be awarded to Charlottesville Trail Running Series runners, cumulative time scoring, based on their place at the finish. The Late Summer Meltdown is the fourth and last race of the Charlottesville Summer Trail Running Series. The race is open to all interested racers, runners, and walkers. The out-and-back course has some rolling hills and flat grassy sections, and is not very technical. The Late Summer Meltdown starts at Pen Park and follows parts of the Rivanna Trail on single-track and double-track trails.
